Where is the wedding?
The ceremony & reception will take place at our family friend's home/backyard in Chelsea, MI (9741 Liberty Rd.).
The ceremony will be outdoors (grass). Dinner will be under the tent in the yard and dance floor and bar will be in the barn (cement floor + wooden dance floor). We will have high top cocktail tables and lounge seating inside the barn.
Where should I stay for the weekend?
We have a couple of recommendations for hotels in the area on our "Hotels" tab. There are also lodging options on Airbnb and VRBO. Anywhere near Chelsea, Ann Arbor, or Dexter, MI is close to the venue.
When should I book my accommodation?
We recommend booking your hotel/airbnb ASAP. After we locked in the date the University of Michigan football schedule came out and unfortunately there is a home game on our wedding date. The Big House (Michigan football stadium) is down the road in Ann Arbor so hotels in the area will also be accommodating football fans as well. GO BLUE!
When should I get there?
We recommend coming in on Friday if you are traveling from out of town/state. If you live in the area just show up at the ceremony time on our invitations.
When should I get my invitation?
Soon! We are finalizing some details but you will receive your invite by the end of May 2026.
Are kids invited?
We love your kids but respectfully encourage you to find accommodations for your child(ren) during the wedding ceremony & reception. We will only be able to accommodate children in our immediate families. If this request will prevent you from attending, please reach out to Kelly directly to discuss (734-646-2128). We thank you for your understanding!
Is there a rehearsal dinner?
Yes, there will be a rehearsal dinner with the bridal parties and close family on Friday evening. You will receive information in your invitation if you are among said group of people.
What will the weather be like?
It will still be warm in late September. Weather could be between 65-80 degrees. We recommend bringing a light jacket for the evening if you might need it.
What's the vibe?
We don't want a super formal wedding. This will be an elevated back yard party. Vintage inspired, bohemian, eclectic, whimsical, fun are the words Kelly has been using to describe the vibe.
What should I wear?
The dress code is semi-formal. Bright, bold colors, fun, funky attire encouraged. Some inspiration is below.
